About Gyazo

Gyazo is a capture tool rather than a traditional upload site. Once installed, you select an area of the screen and the capture is uploaded straight away, with a link copied ready to paste into chat, email or a support ticket. It can also record short videos of your screen.

Gyazo is operated by Helpfeel Inc., a Japanese company, and its terms are governed by Japanese law. There are apps for Windows and Mac, extensions for Chrome, Firefox and Edge, and iOS and Android apps.

The free plan offers unlimited captures but only lets you access your 10 most recent images, and limits recordings to 7 seconds. Gyazo Pro adds unlimited history, recordings of up to 10 minutes, search, text extraction (OCR), editing tools and no ads. Pro is priced per month and billed yearly.

How to upload to Gyazo

1. Install the Gyazo app or browser extension.
2. Start a capture, drag over the area you want, and release.
3. Gyazo uploads the image and opens or copies its link, ready to share.

Developers can register an application and upload through the REST API at https://upload.gyazo.com/api/upload.

Things to know

• Sharing: Links are hashed to make them hard to guess, and you can choose between "Only me" and "Anyone with the link" for each capture.
• History limit: On the free plan older captures still exist but you can only access the 10 most recent. Downgrading from Pro does not delete captures.
• Content rules: The terms prohibit unlawful use, malware, and excessively violent or indecent material. Gyazo does not pre-screen uploads but can remove content without notice.
• Inactive accounts: The terms allow Helpfeel to cancel a registration after 6 months of non-use.
